May 1, 2016 - Trentwinds International Centre - Peterborough.

Our first annual spring event was held last year at the Oshawa Legion, with the room filled to capacity. It gave country music friends a chance to come together and enjoy the music that we love featuring the Tim Sanders Band. Funds raised were used to help offset the ever increasing costs of running the annual CCMR weekend in Trenton.

Our SECOND annual "Spring Preview Event" will be held Sunday May 1, 2016 from 1 PM until 5 PM at the Trentwinds International Centre in Peterborough, with music once again by the "Tim Sanders Band". Click on the new "Spring Preview Event" section of this web site for all the details. Please come and join us.

Welcome to 2016, and the 25th Year of the Classic Country Music Reunion (C.C.M.R,)

Remember back in 1992 when a group of veteran country music entertainers got together to start the first CCMR? Their desire was to start a weekend where artists who had played traditional country music over the years, both amateur and professional, could come together for fellowship, play their music again, and join with fans who share this same love for classic country music - thus the name, "Classic Country Music Reunion".

I remember it well. In fact, I was the general manager of the Lindsay Agricultural Society when CCMR founder Lorne Hachey came to see me about the possibility of starting this event at the fair grounds in Lindsay. It was his dream. The first four events were held in Lindsay, and then CCMR moved to the beautiful Centennial Park in Trenton.

The mandate of the CCMR has always been to put entertainers from the past under the spotlight once again, as well as encourage and showcase others who are continuing the traditions of classic country, including our youth.

I wonder if the group that put the first CCMR together and struggled to keep it going under some very difficult years financially in the beginning ever dreamed that we would be still going strong in 2016, and celebrating 25 years?

Please make it a point to be with us for the Classic Country Music Reunion July 28 to 31, 2016, (as well as at the Spring Preview Event on May 1st in Peterborough), and help us celebrate 25 years!

In the words of legendary country entertainer "Cousin Minnie Pearl"... "We're just so proud to be here!".

John Lester
2016 President.
